Overview

Engineered comprehensive WordPress theme plugin customization and executed a major malware recovery operation. Successfully rescued the platform from hackers by identifying malicious payloads, stripping out remote backdoors, and thoroughly securing the server environment against future intrusions.

Cyber Security & Technical Implementations

• Removed "Tiny File Manager" Backdoors: Tracked down and deleted full-featured file manager scripts masquerading as legitimate WordPress files (e.g., wp-content/plugins/index-info.php, wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfour/functions-dns.php, wp-content/themes/expert-healthcare/functions-character.php) which allowed attackers remote browsing and editing.
• Eradicated PHP "Dropper" Malware: Identified and wiped heavily obfuscated PHP droppers hidden deep within the uploads directory (such as scorpion.php, skunk.php, and gorilla.php) that were generating further payloads.
• Cleaned SEO Spam Injection & Restored Dashboard: Excised massive malicious hook codes targeting pre_get_posts inside hello-elementor/functions.php. This malicious code was specifically hiding hundreds of generated spam pages from the WordPress Admin dashboard. Removing it immediately restored page visibility and management.
• Performed Deep System & User Audit: Querying the database directly to confirm 'Locusadmin' remained the sole authorized user. Manually verified all critical WordPress core files (like wp-config.php and .htaccess) for integrity and scanned the entire wp-content directory for known malware signatures (eval, base64_decode, wp_vcd).
• Fixed WPvivid Backup Plugin Crash: Modified the server's php.ini environment to enable the native PHP zip extension. This eliminated the slow PclZip fallbacks and allowed successfully offloading large 143MB database dumps. Also cleared stuck garbage tmp files.
• Deleted Hacker Output: Located and hard-deleted over 19,000+ blog posts generated via the hacker's spam-bot networks.
